Early Life

Larry started hunting with his maternal granddad and dad while he was still in diapers, and will admit being too young to remember his first real fishing and hunting adventures in the gravel hills of northern Colorado County, Texas. He received a Daisy BB gun for his 3rd birthday and shortly thereafter began hunting on his own. Today Larry shoots Ruger rifles, pistol and shotgun. Although popularly known as “Mr. Whitetail” he has hunted big game throughout the world including extensively in North America and Africa, but also in Europe, Asia, South America, New Zealand and Australia. He hunts primarily big game animals! When asked which is is favorite animal and hunt, he is quick to respond, “The next hunt I’m going on!”

A graduate of Texas A&M University and a professional wildlife biologist, he has long been in involved in a variety of wildlife research including work with such varied animals as desert bighorn sheep and alligators. He has established quality wildlife management programs on over 12,000,000 acres across North America and other parts of the world.
